Today marked a meaningful and inspiring milestone for Rohingya education as new Rohingya textbooks were officially distributed in our schools by John Jeffery Littleton, Asia Regional Manager of Children on the Edge.
The event was attended by teachers, students, community leaders, and education volunteers who gathered with great enthusiasm and gratitude. The arrival of these new textbooks represents more than just the distribution of learning materials—it symbolizes progress, dignity, and hope for thousands of Rohingya children who continue their education under challenging circumstances.
Education in one’s mother tongue plays a vital role in a child’s intellectual and emotional development. For Rohingya students, learning through their own language strengthens comprehension, builds confidence, and preserves cultural identity. These newly printed textbooks have been carefully prepared to support structured learning in classrooms, making lessons clearer, more engaging, and more effective for both students and teachers.
During the distribution ceremony, Mr. John Jeffery Littleton expressed his appreciation for the dedication of Rohingya educators who continue to serve their community with commitment and resilience. He emphasized that every child deserves access to quality education, regardless of displacement or hardship. His visit reflects the ongoing partnership and support of Children on the Edge (UK) in promoting inclusive and sustainable education initiatives.
Teachers shared their heartfelt thanks, noting that access to updated Rohingya textbooks will greatly enhance lesson delivery and improve student participation. Students received the books with excitement and pride, knowing they are learning in a language that reflects their heritage and identity.
This initiative is part of a broader effort to strengthen Rohingya-language education and ensure that children are not left behind. The continued collaboration between local educators and international partners demonstrates that meaningful change is possible when communities and organizations work together.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Children on the Edge (UK) and Mr. John Jeffery Littleton for their unwavering support and commitment to Rohingya education. May this initiative continue to inspire progress, opportunity, and a brighter future for every Rohingya child.
