However, for many decades, the Rohingya language has faced serious challenges due to displacement, lack of formal recognition, and limited access to education in the mother tongue. As a result, many Rohingya children grew up without the opportunity to learn to read and write in their own language To address this challenge, dedicated educators, language activists, and community members began working to promote the Rohingya language using the Hanifi script, a writing system developed specifically for the Rohingya language.
