However, for many decades, the Rohingya language has faced serious challenges due to displacement, lack of formal recognition, and limited access to education in the mother tongue. As a result, many Rohingya children grew up without the opportunity to learn to read and write in their own language To address this challenge, dedicated educators, language activists, and community members began working to promote the Rohingya language using the Hanifi script, a writing system developed specifically for the Rohingya language. Their goal was to preserve the language, strengthen cultural identity, and ensure that future generations of Rohingya children would not lose their linguistic heritage From this vision and commitment, the Hanifi Team emerged as a group of passionate individuals determined to support and expand mother-tongue education for Rohingya communities 2. Journey The journey of the Hanifi Team began with a shared concern for the future of the Rohingya language.
