Airstrikes by Military Council destroy houses, mosque, and shop in Maungdaw

On September 29, 2024, 18 houses, one mosque, and one shop belonging to Rohingya communities were burned down to ashes due to airstrikes conducted by the Military Council in Maungdaw Township, Arakan State, Myanmar.
The Military Council dropped approximately 60 bombs between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM on September 29th, targeting Ward No. 02, Narishong, Basic Education High School No. 02, and Ali village in Maungdaw.
A mosque located in Ward No. 02 was completely destroyed after being hit by bombs dropped by the Military Council during the airstrikes at approximately 8:00 AM. Additionally, 18 houses and a shop in Ali village were burned down to ashes after being struck by bombs dropped from a Y-12 jet fighter at around 10:00 AM the same day.
"The bomb explosions occurred in three different locations. Eighteen houses, a mosque, and a shop were burned down to ashes due to the explosions of bombs dropped by Military Council," said a source.
Reliable reports indicate that these three locations were used by the Arakan Army (AA) to attack the Military Council's Battalion 5 (Nakaka 5) in Maungdaw.
It has been reported that the Military Council carried out further airstrikes around Battalion 5, 3 miles and 4 miles , at around 1:00 PM on September 30th. The Military Council dropped numerous bombs, suspecting the presence of the Arakan Army (AA) in these areas.
Recently, the Military Council has been regularly using jet fighters, including the Y-12, to protect Battalion 5 (Nakaka 5) in Maungdaw.
